Life LessonsIt’s funny how the people who told you they’d always be there for and support you no matter what suddenly turn on you, and you no longer mean anything to them. It’s funny how a point in time comes when you’re no longer able to do the things you used to for them, and suddenly you no longer serve a purpose. And although you’ve helped them so many times in the past and vice versa, things change and it’s all conveniently forgotten or ignored. The Greek philosopher Heraclitus said “Change is the only constant in life,” and as time passes that quote has proven true time and again – with family and friends alike. So what do you do? On one hand, many would say that keeping to and only focusing on yourself is selfish. However, on the other hand, finding a “close-knit” group or “circle” of supporters is not as easy as it seems. On this journey called “Life” reality is reality, and we have to either change what we can’t accept or accept it for what it is – as hard as it may be. It may take a long time to master, but focusing on what is important and who is important are the two main things to keep at the forefront of your mind in your everyday life.
